I know Winslet is her screen name but everybody calls her Kate Winslet even though shes married..Shouldnt people call her Kate Mendes when shes not in movies or events?I also know that she can hyphinate it like Winslet - Mendes because my aunty did that when she got married..
since Kate Winslet married Sam Mendes shouldnt her last name be Mendes?
This question is inspired by a movie IQ test that I saw recently in this section. Since I know the cinematic IQ on this website is fairly low, I figured I'd take a survey to hopefully prove me wrong. The problem is, most people think they know everything about movies and only know films from the 90s up, just from America.. It's completely absurd and ignorant.. Anyways, here it goes (out of 100), Good luck, and thanks in advance everyone! +10 points if at least one of these directors (Ingmar Bergman, Federico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, Andrei Tarkovsky, Jean Renoir, Michelangelo Antonioni, Vittorio De Sica, Jean Luc Godard, Carl Th Dreyer, Kenji Mizoguchi, Alfred Hitchcock, Satyajit Ray) +25 points if you've seen two movies by one of these directors (minus Hitchcock, because everyone has) -20 if you have not +15 if you can name at least 2 directors from 6 different countries -30 if you think The Shawshank Redemption is in the top 100 films of all time, or, either of The Godfathers in the top 5 -30 if you think IMDb's top 250 is remotely accurate, or if you think that any good critic/serious film viewer would agree with it, +30 if you know that very few people on IMDb actually know what they are saying, or know how to rate films. -40 if you think The Dark Knight is in the top 250 +5 if you've seen pretty much all the films by your favorite director.. as long as it's not Michael Bay, Peter Jackson, Tim Burton, or Sam Mendes or anyone else along those lines.. If so, then -15 Since many of you only know American films.. +10 if you've seen at least one of the above: Citizen Kane (Welles) 41, Sunrise (Murnau) 27, Sunset Blvd (Wilder) 50, 2001 (Kubrick) 68, City Lights (Chaplin) 31, Vertigo (Hitchcock) 58, Casablanca (Curtiz) 42, Duck Soup (Marx Brothers) '33, 12 Angry Men (Lumet) '57, Annie Hall (Allen) '77, etc. and because you probably need the points, The Godfather I or II (Coppola) 74 +5 if you've at least seen the most popular, and recent, foreign films (hopefully this will lead you to some better movies; you are on the right path).. City of God, Oldboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Y Tu Mama Tambien, etc. Add up your totals.. Thanks again for taking the time to do this surveyJust a Dog Chasing Cars: The reason we watch movies certainly isn't for "just having a good movie IQ." This is fine if you don't like the same films I do, that's fine if you don't understand the same films I do.. I could care less what films you watch, but you cannot compare a 3 year old's painting to a Monet.

Oscar predictions anyone?
is the music that sam mendes uses in Revolutunionary Road the same as the music he used in Road to Perdition?
i'm making a list of good things that origonated in britain, mostly just people & TV shows, here's what i have so far: the mighty boosh gavin&stacey are you smarter than a ten year old? nighty night who wants to be a millionaire the weakest link ted hughes kate winslet james macavoy garbage the smiths duran duran echo and the bunnymen the teardrop explodes the who queen never mind the buzzcocks mock the week QI russell brand ponderland IT crowd red dwarf sam mendes danny boyle greenwing what are some of your favourite british things?
what are some good british things?
They're so cute together, and they have great chemistry on screen. They're really great friends, but say they love each other like brother and sister (?). I think notttt. Did you see what Kate said to Leo when she got her Golden Globe for Revolutionary Road? Ugh and Sam Mendes is not much of a looker. Kate and Leo...just admit it! You are meant for each other! Now leave your significant others and tie the knot.In response to Punk Propangdist... yea I think it is a sort of Love Triangle. I think they both love each other, but Kate is the one who got away. I feel as though Leo may not have wanted a family the way Kate did and so they decided it was for the best not to be together. As far as Leo not returning those feelings...he did blow her a couple kisses while she was up there thanking him. And maybe he doesn't gush so much about his feelings about her because he is a gentleman and prefers showing respect to Kate's husband. Can you just imagine if they're having some sort of hot love affair? I wonder if they could actually get away with it, what with the paparazzi and the public eye...
Does anyone else feel like Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio should just get married already?
Ok, was it just me or did this movie suck? After months of waiting for this movie to come out, as it was directed by my favourite director, as well as that, my favourite composer was applying his music in another one of sam mendes's movie..... i can't believe the result. I actually felt embarrassed sitting in the movies watching it, with someone i'd convinced had to be a good movie. question too... what was the name of that home abortion rubber thing?!
Revolutionary Road the Movie?
Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction or Sam Mendes' American Beauty?
I just think they would be a fantastic match. More so than Sam Mendes (Kate's Husband) and Kate. Leo and Kate have such great chemistry and look so adorable together. Leo and her both looked so ecstatic and happy during Kate's Revolutionary Road speech. I know that Kate is happy with Sam and I am happy for her and I am also happy for Leo and Bar (not married) but I still find Leo and Kate to be a perfect match. They both love and care so much for each other (as Kate stated in her speech). I just think they would be perfect together. What is your opinion? Please don't give a stupid or smarty-pants answer. Only answer if you have a real or decent opinion.
