Australian Open Day 5: Who Will Win?
I want for the men, Andy Murray (Eng) . For the women, Kim Clijsters (Bel)
Who do you want to win the Australian Open?
First off..Good job James Blake, you came so close, and I am so proud! Okay, now that that is settled..I have to look on the brightside of Dementieva getting out. In The Group of Death now stands Henin, Wickmayer, Clijsters, and Kuznetsova as its big contenders. Kuznetsova has only dropped 7 games so far. Aravane Rezai is out of the picture, and Sveta will play an unseeded girl in the third round, which I believe she'll only drop a few games in. Clijsters had a tough time against Tanasugarn, so I feel she is somebody Sveta can upset. Than it's Henin/Wickmayer, and if she can beat Kim, I think she would beat them. She is sort of unnoticed, and I think she could catch people off guard.. How about it?lol spiffy and anna you guys are allowed to disagree with me and have different opinions, it's okaaay haha. But the hope is still alive :) I would kind of feel like a bad fan if I called her Kuzy, haha, that sounds so stupid, but I can't help it!
Does Svetlana Kuznetsova have a good shot at winning the Australian Open?
will kim clijsters win australian open?
Some of you might remember my rambling, depressing question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai7U3JreHhlg9SZs8.HCVinty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090517161013AAE8ukj Well in January, look at how many of my favorite players won titles, or almost did (sorry I have a lot): *Andy Roddick* (Brisbane) *John Isner* (Auckland) *Marin Cilic* (Chennai) *Kim Clijsters* (Brisbane) *Elena Dementieva* (Sydney) Flavia Pennetta (final of Auckland) Richard Gasquet (final of Sydney) So, what is this? When I'm not looking, everyone starts winning? I only watched Andy Roddick and John Isner's finals. I do not ever recall so many of my favorite players having so much success at the same time. They basically almost won all the first tournaments of the season. Last year's final between Kim Clijsters and Caroline Wozniacki was pretty exciting for me, but this definitely tops that. I am definitely more excited before a slam than I ever have been. Do you ever recall your favorite player(s) having so much success like this (besides Federer or Nadal fans for obvious reasons)?Clijsters-Dementieva is a tough one for me. Based on Dementieva never winning a slam, I would root for her. I've softened my stance on Zvonareva since that US Open incident. I'm sympathetic to her ankle injury (she's still struggling!) and I'm really impressed by her other "line of work" - diplomacy, which is one of my career interests. Szavay seems to be turning into a one season wonder (2007), and I'm open to making a change soon (I take this favorite player stuff way too seriously, lol). I really want Zvonareva to become healthy again. If not for that freak injury, she could have continued to play like she did early last season (Australian Open SF and Indian Wells champ).
Can it get any better for me as a tennis fan?
http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/blog/busted_racquet/post/Henin-Clijsters-and-Dementieva-in-Aussie-Open-s;_ylt=AvBBq0DmBsCJRBi.QvxsI4I4v7YF?urn=ten,213734 So when the draw came out, and I saw Serena and Venus were on top, and Svetlana and Elena were on the bottom I was so happy. But soon I found out there was nothing to be excited about. One section contains Elena Dementieva, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin, Aravane Rezai, and Aussie favorite Jelena Dokic. There are also consistent players like Pennetta, Razzano, and Petrova that can make an upset. I'm predicting a Dementieva / Clijsters quarterfinal! I hope Elena can win, she had a nice win over Serena, who mind you, NOBODY is acknowledging this tournament (it must be weird for her).. Who will advance? How perfect..Yanina Wickmayer who has qualified for the Aussie Open, is in this section!
Who will make it out of the Group of Death?

Thought on Kim Clijsters winning the Brisbane International?
In yesterday's women's final tennis match between Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters, I noticed Justine was again wearing a wedding band. Does anyone know if she has remarried or reconciled with her ex. I so admire the professionalism of these two young ladies and try to keep up with what goes on in their lives. If anyone has info on this question, please respond. Thank you. Dearie
This is a tennis question.?
Noticed in the Kim Clijsters vs Justine Henin match, Justine wears a wedding band again. Does this mean she has remarried or reconciled with her ex. If anyone has information on this, I would like to know. I have followed her career for years and would like an answer to this. Thank you. Dearie
