Question about healthcare reform?
Here's the deal: There's this guy, an amazing guy. He's super smart and we've been going out on and off for almost four years now. The on and off came from the fact that he had to leave cuz he study abroad. I'm a mechanical engineer, he's a molecular biologist. Super fit. And he's kinda gothic-ish, he always wear this not so high goth boots, and he loves wearing crosses and that kind of jewelry. (Although he's not the typical stereotype that use piercings all over, tats and white make with black nail polish or so, he just has that style). We're both atheists, and his birthday is on monday. He once told me that he was not used to celebrate his birthday, but I was thinking about just taking him some sushi, and we'd sit down and watch a movie or something like that. Back in 2002, when I was 16, I went to Europe with my grandmother and my mother, and in a train, a priest and a nun sat with us at train. They gave my grandma and me (my mother was walking around maybe at the time) two rosaries with Pope John Paul's II Cross, and they told us they just came from the Vatican (we were traveling from Italy to Austria), and gave us a white one and a black one, both blessed by the Pope. I kept the black one, just because I liked it. I was never religious, my grandma was uber religious, and I don't know, I saw them as a bonding symbol between her and me, I loved her very much. When she died I kept both rosaries. Lately things haven't gone really well with this guy I've been going out. When he came back from studying, I was seeing someone else, but I still went out with him behind the other guy I was going out with. Then I broke up with the guy, but things weren't the same with him. We've been just hanging out, like going to have dinner, or just go to parties or clubs, but we haven't hooked up since. And he's had some flings lately, me too, but I still really love and care for the guy. For his birthday I wanted to give him the black rosary, it's not too fancy, but it has some emotional value to me, and I'd like him to have it and I think that he might like it like part of his jewelry, and also to share that emotional value with him. Could it be an appropriate gift? Is it too compromising? I'd like to hear some opinions about it.
Opinions about giving a rosary to the guy (goth) I like?
Hello, I turn twenty-two years old at the end of May. At the age of eighteen I began my course studies at a four year, senior college named Queens College of the City University of New York. Between then (2006) and last month, I was in and out of school due to discontent. I considered everything from archaeology to environmental studies, and anything in-between. I started off okay, but after two semesters I only obtained fifteen credits. In both the Fall of 2007 and Spring 2008, I ended up leaving because at the time I thought I could just wait for a call from the United States Postal Service. I changed my mind again and returned to Queen College for Fall 2008 and collected nine credits. Spring 2009 came and went with me feeling uneasy once more and I would not return until the following school year. Just recently I finally decided to call it quits and push the restart button this fall. I worry a lot because I think of the people I graduated high school with, nearly four years ago, and how they are most likely at least halfway done with university. I, on the other hand, have spent the last few years or so working a minimum wage, part-time job and doing nothing else. The rest of my time can be attributed to sleeping, eating, thinking about everything, surfing the web and playing video games. I barely have any friends and have never been in a relationship. Altogether, this gets me down because I am always confused in terms of what I am going to do with the life I cherish. Now, here is what I think I want to do, but the fact that it involves what I see as a step down to community college is something to keep in mind. There is a unique Gallery and Museum Studies program at nearby Queensborough Community College in the beautiful area of Bayside (I went to Holy Cross High School not far from there). I often think of places like London, England and Paris, France and the beauty of living a simpler life. I see art in many areas and would fancy a fulfilling line of work versus sitting behind a desk in a suit and tie. I love life and yearn for something artsy, even though before I entered my twenties I could care less. I have come here to tell my story and for hope of others who can either relate to me or offer their say on these matters. Does this sound normal to you or should I hold regrets? I just need to find my way in a different setting. Thank you for reading…

One of my close friends is a lesbian, I have no problems with it AT ALL, but she seems to hate men with a passion. I am straight and whenever I am dating a man she will tell me how horrible he is and how all men are "foul". I respect the fact she is not interested in men, but I am! I dont want to offend anyone with my question, but do a lot of lesbians dislike men as a general rule ??
Do lesbians hate men ?
My father recently had an echocardiogram that took approximately only five minutes and of course nothing was found wrong! I'm concerned that if we try to get a second opinion the new cardiologist will make sure to provide the same result as the previous cardiologist due to the fact that doctors now a day are extremely afraid of lawsuits. I like to find a small down that I can pay cash with a cardiologist that won't need a referral to have the test done. I live near Los Angeles California. Any suggestions. Thxs
A Five Minute echocardiogram !!!?
so heres the thing. my best guy friend and i met at the beginning of the school year (since september). i like him and he likes me but we arent dating yet. the only problem is his friends. they HATE me...these are his best friends...his ex girlfriends boyfriend, his ex, and her best friend. hes only been friends with them for like a month and they've always been nice to me until they became friends with him. now all a sudden they are being so rude to me...they keep telling him not to date me because im "disgusting" and when his ex and her friend see me they will scream EW SHES A DIRTY WHORE and stuff like that. another problem is they all smoke, and when i met him he didnt smoke...he started smoking when he started hanging out with them. the smoking really bothers me and during lunch he goes outside with them and smokes on the corner. i know he doesnt want his ex back (they broke up because she cheated on him twice). but it really bothers me and i cant take the fact that his ex and her friend keep harassing me. and lately he wont even talk to me...i keep asking him if hes mad at me or if he has a problem and hes like no im fine...but he barely talks to me anymore...what should i do?! btw we are all 16 i have 2 opitions... opinion 1: break off all ties with him. dont talk to him at all anymore and move on... OR option 2: stay away from him for a while and see what happens what should i do??

I have 3 fish in my tank- a black moor, a panda butterfly-tailed goldfish, and a common goldfish. Recently, the black moor developed white lines around his eyes, one of which was swollen. Thinking it was the start of pop-eye, I did daily water changes and treated the water with ammonia remover and antibacterial for two days. I could not see him over the weekend, and when I came back, all three fish were laying on the bottom of the tank, barely moving. The white had spread over the moor's head and along his sides. I can't see how extensive it is on the other fish, as they are mostly white, but I could see tufts of fungus on the panda's eyes if I looked at the right angle. The moor almost died, though is now swimming actively around, despite the fact that the fungus seems to have spread further, reaching now to his tail. The panda is looking a little better (in an isolation tank) today after being nearly immobile yesterday and showing bloody streaks in his fins and eyes. I have been treating with Melafix and Rid Ich+, which says it treats fungal infections. However, while the fish are more active, their body condition doesn't look any better. Today I bought Pimafix, and want to know if it is a better medication or whether I should stick with what I'm doing. Oh, and i added aquarium salt today as well.
Do I have the right medication for my fish?

I have had crap luck finding a remotely decent dentist since I moved to Texas. Three on my former dentists, whom I adored, each went to UCLA School of Dentistry. I'm sure that must have something to do with the quality of their work. Out here, of the seven different dentists I've been two, six I didn't like all went to Baylor, and the seventh, whom I did like, went somewhere in the Midwest and stopped accepting insurance. I called 1-800-DENTIST, but they don't have a search by education. In fact I found out they're just a "pay to play" directory of dentists. Does anyone know if there is a web site or organization where I can say, "See if you can find a dentist in the DFW area who went to UCLA?"
