So far my itenary is as follows- x2 nights in Lima overnight bus to Arequipa x2 nights in Arequipa overnight bus to Puno x1 night in Puno day bus to Capacbana x2 nights in Capacbana (to see lake titicaca) day bus to Puno x1 night in Puno nightbus to Cusco x3nights in Cusco x4days 3nights to macchu picchu x3 nights in Cusco I then plan on travelling into chile down to santiago. Is there anywhere i should be stopping off and spending some time on the way down? Im not sure weather to get a flight from Cusco to Arica and spend a couple of days there? Any suggustions would be great. I plan to spend a total of 8-10days in chile including 2-3nighs in santaigo before heading home. thanks

Do we HAVE to have vaccinations when traveling to Chile or are they only recommended? When you arrive at the airport in Santiago, do they ASK for any sort of documentation when you land, that one has had their vaccinations? Do we actually NEED these vaccinations? If so, which ones do you think are most important? We plan to travel in January/Feb. 2011. I'm concerned about the safety of vaccinations in general.
