SO SORRY, friends, we have not been able to keep you updated on Little Ryan's situation. We spent two weeks in Dharamsala, hiking and visiting holy sites. We kept hoping to catch a glimpse of the Dolly Llama, but His Holiness never appeared (probably inside meditating). Esperanza and I really felt like we'd acquired so much spiritual merit, until the end, when the karma soured like fresh lassi. Knowing we'd be heading back to Delhi soon, we and our new friends (Aleah, Namir, and little Netanya) were feeling TONS of pressure to decide on the final design for the little ones' matching tattoo's. We weren't sure if we should go with the star idea or the butterfly/names idea or the eye-color idea...Namir even came up with some retarded idea about 6 candles on a menorah LOL. So the other day we were all dining together as per usual at the Snow Lion Restaurant and the conversation turned to the betrothal tattoo's again. Esperanza just started going OFF. It was OUR idea to have our son tattooed first...she didn't like the fact that our original, simple and traditional idea was now turning into this whole sort of tramp stamp thing. I tried to keep it all together – Netanya *is* very fair skinned. But Aleah just started swearing back or something in her language. We assumed the betrothal was off, and took the train down to Delhi the next day. We could get Ryan his tat any time now but the funny thing is....now we are having doubts. If he had ended up with the matching tattoo and then A + N called off the wedding, it would have sucked BIG time. We just hope our original idea stands the test of Father Time's? (Ryan's birth date and “miracle” in Arabic http://www.kcwaters.com/GreatArabic.jpg ). What other symbol's should we add? Do the numbers 5-3-07 mean anything bad? We really need FRESH ideas...I know the Tattoo's section is just full of them.
