Is my dad in the right, or in the wrong?
I don't know what it is but it seems like kids now a days ( not all of course ) could give a rats @ss how they talk to an adult. I have a 2 year old daughter and I already have begun to teach her to respect her 'elders' and anybody else for that matter. Just one example being I was at our local indoor play center last week and this kid ( about 5 or 6 ) comes flying by in the TODDLER section of the place and knocks my daughter over and I go, hey slow down a bit and he goes 'move lady your not moving fast enough....GO' to me..I was speechless. If I talked to an adult like that when I was a kid I would be in it deep. I know he was just a kid but jeezzzz. And today I was at that same play center and a kid threw this rubber bat backwards really hard and it hit me in the neck..I go, ouch, my God, and he goes 'Well you should watch were your sitting' he was probably about 7. Sorry this is kinda a rant but I'm just wondering, what is it with kids these days? Is it because if you even dare to raise your voice to your kid in public someone will call CPS..I just don't get it.
Young kids being very disrespectful?
ok.. i just kind of ask questions as i go along in my day with two toddlers. My son is almost three ( in june) he is a good kid and is very sweet and sensitive... he seems to just daze out over the last couple of months. he will be doing something.. and I will say "P, leave that door open!" (he is shutting it on his brother - can hurt him) and he will just stand there in a daze standing on the closed door! i will say "open it now.. you are going to hurt your brother!' stands there. I cant be running over every 5 secs and making eye contact with him... so I raise my voice P- do you hear me? I am going to count to 5 and you better have that door open." DAZE! not looking at me- looking at floor "1...2... 3... 4... 5... ok time for your time out!" then i put him on the time out! sits there looking like he has NOOO IDEA what he has done. I mean? like two months ago he listened to me? why .. is it like he cant hear me now.
son just not listening! what to do?
I'm try to understand you ladies (I'm a guy) and I stumbled up across this one answer to a response on a "does she like me" kind of question. How many of you would agree with the list below, and if you do, do you mean to do those things or is it unconscious behavior. Thank you so much. ***Oh, I know it's really long, you don't have to read them all*** She gazes in your eyes with deep interest and her pupils are dilated. *Her skin tone becomes red while being around you. *Her crossed leg is pointed towards you or if that same leg is rocking back and forth towards you. *She raises or lowers the volume of her voice to match yours. *She rubs her chin or touches her cheek. This indicates that she's thinking about you and her relating in some way... *She winks at you while talking to you or winks at you from a distance. *She exposes the palms of her hand facing you. *Biting of the lips or showing of the tongue, licking her lips or touching of her front teeth.... *She starts sitting straight up and her muscles appear to be firm. *She puts her fingernail between her teeth. *She laughs in unison with you. *She touches your arm, shoulder, thigh, or hand while talking to you. *Plays with her jewelry, especially with stroking and pulling motions. *She twirls her hair around her fingers while she is looking at you. *Eyebrows raised and then lowered, then a smile usually indicates interest in you. *While talking to you, she rests an elbow in the palm of one hand, while holding out her other hand, palm up. *In a crowd she speaks only to you and focuses all of her undivided attention on you. *While talking to you, she blinks more than usual, fluttering her eyelashes. *Big smiles with upper and lower teeth showing with a relaxed face. *She speeds up or slows down her speaking to match yours. *She rubs her wrists up and down.
Girls, if you could help me out on this one?
"Stop!!" yelled Ostara in terror. All the tribes were after her. She was an outsider. She didn't belong here with the others. Ostara was born away from the tribes and left by her mother and father to be raised with the wolves. Her mother passed away after she was born and her father decided he could not handle a child. Now she is an outsider. No one knows her name, her parents, or where she comes from. She shouldn't be with tribes. But she was. She had to get food somehow! "STEALER! STEALER! STEALER!" You could hear the tribes shouting as they chased after Ostara with their torches and bows. Ostara was getting weaker and weaker by the second. She hadn't eaten in days. She was in a terrible state. As she was running, she realized she wasn't gonna get away, so she fell to the ground in agony. She let out a loud howl as she called for her wolf brothers to save her. She realized it was too late when she felt a pair of strong hands pick her up and take her away. She had no idea where she was when she heard a voice. "You could've died out there! What were you thinking to steal food?!". Ostara opened her eyes to see a beautiful face in front of her. It was a boy. He had seductive brown eyes that almost made her faint. He had beatiful tan skin. He had dark brown hair that glimmered in the sun. It seemed to her like he had no flaws. "I...I...I was hungry." Ostara answered quickly. "That doesn't mean to steal food! They would have killed you if it wasn't for me!" the boy shouted back in anger. "Sorry, I...I'm sorry." "It's okay. We can still be friends. My name is Ateyo. I'm an outsider also. What's your name?" "Umm...I'm Ostara." "Great to meet you Ostara! You are beautiful by the way." Ateyo kissed her hand.Ostara was dark toned with blue eyes and dark Auburn hair. She had a very beautiful face. "How did you get me, Ateyo?" Ostara asked in a concerned voice. "The tribes know to stay away from me. I'm not as good of a kid as I may seem." Ateyo answered, looking down as if he felt ashamed. "What did you do? Did you kill someone?" "I don't want to talk about it." Ateyo got up and walked away. He sat on a log and buries his face in his knees. Is it good? What should I change?"Stop!!" yelled Ostara in terror. All the tribes were after her. She was an outsider. She didn't belong here with the others. She hadn't eaten in days and she was in a terrible state. The forest seemed to be getting darker and she was being enveloped by it. Everything around her was frightening. She didn't know where to go or hide. She went and hide by the biggest oak tree she could see and let out a loud howl as she called for her wolf brothers to come save her.She realized it was too late when she felt a pair of strong hands pick her up and carry her away. Classical Song in Movie Raise Your Voice?
Hey here's the beginning of my story I just want to know what you think of the general story line so far and all comments on my writing are welcome. ???‚??For Homework I want you to write down a week of your family life. I don't care if you didn't do much through the week talk about your family, your hobbies and whatever will fill 500 words per day.???‚?? The moans began when Miss Talbot mentioned the word homework. They grew louder as she explained the homework. They came from the whole class when she said five hundred words a day. ???‚??Quieten down class!???‚?? She slammed down her copy of Macbeth on her desk and continued to pace in front of the class. I looked over to my left to one of my best friends Josie. She gave me the secret nod. I turned to my right and looked at Gabby, my other best friend, she also gave me the secret nod. Slowly I raised my hand up. ???‚??Miss, why do we have to write about our life? Are you trying to perve on us????‚?? The class gave out quite giggles and smirks grew on my friends faces. ???‚??I thought paedophiles were more discreet.???‚?? I shrugged at her and sat back into my seat. Her face was bright red. The class laughed. I watched her crumple in front of me. She was a new teacher. I knew that she was doing this to get to know us better but new teachers always give the best opportunities to be put down. ???‚??I...want this in by next Monday...you start to...day...???‚?? Suddenly she cracked; sobs broke free from her and she fled the class faster than an Olympic runner. Cheers broke out from the class. We had managed to finish the school day ten minutes early. Cheers came from a few people and the whole class began to leave. I waited until most of the class had left until I started to shove my books back into my bag. Gabby and Josie were impatiently waiting for me at the door. ???‚??You can go see your boyfriends!???‚?? I shouted at them. Their faces lit up and they ran down the halls. I slowly trudged out of the classroom and down the empty, silent halls. I began to think about the homework. My family and life aren't exactly anything that you would want to write down... the only people that writes about my family are the newspapers and the police documenters. I try my best to avoid anything and everything to do with my family. But it doesn't matter how hard I try I will always be a Drummond; the lowest of the low. I will always have that damn name printed across everything. I can't go near anywhere high class because of my damn name. That damn name I what I'm judged on. I would do anything to get rid of it. As I got closer to the girls bathrooms I heard sobs. Miss Talbot. If I was one of my fellow siblings I would go in the bathroom and probably beat her up and video it but I'm not so I'm going to be morally better. As I pushed the big green door open I saw her. She was hunched over the sinks splashing water onto her face. Her ginger hair hung in front of her face is a mess. In some patches it was wet and others were dry. When she looked up her brown eyes were now surrounded by puffy, red blotchy skin. Down the front of her top was water turning patches darker. Her brown skirt even had water down it. When she saw me anger filled her face. ???‚??You horrid filthy Drummond!???‚?? She said my name with utter repulsion. She had used my kryptonite; my name. It felt like she had stabbed me. My head fell down in shame. The running water from the tap came to a halt and she walked closer to me. ???‚??Lift you head up!???‚?? The same tone of repulsion rung throughout her voice. Slowly I lifted my head to face her. I looked deep into her eyes. They casted judgement and loathed me. My self esteem fell below low. ???‚??Everyone told me to be wary of you but stupid me thought ???‚??no I will treat her like a regular person???‚??. Now I realise that regular people are clearly not Drummonds! Regular people aren't stupid little sluts who try to show off in front of her class. Regular people don't try to be bigger than teachers!???‚?? She had moved so close to me now that I could feel her breath on my face. From nowhere her hand struck me across the face. I staggered backwards until the wall stabilised me. ???‚??You filthy Drummond shouldn't be allowed in the public!???‚?? She flung her head high, marched out of the bathroom and slammed the door behind her. This was another day in my life as Drummond. My very name is my curse.
What do you think of this? (teenage readers views are wanted :D )?
I have tried multiple times, and i love them very very much. It's just, I feel like they're always on me about something! Nothing is ever good enough, or I didn't do this correct, or I should do this more etc... It's constant! I feel like I never have any privacy, or peace of mind. They really don't care about my opinions or thoughts much, they just want me to be the way they want me to be. I can't understand why they just can't accept me for who I am. This is only part of the family, some of my family are pretty nice and kind... but the ones I'm around, they always want me to change. For instance, I LOVE being alone! I like to think and be in the silence. They tell me,"You should make more friends! I know I didn't raise a weirdo!" Or,"When I was your age, I already had a girlfriend, an entire friend clique, and you can't even find one friend"? And when I do make a friend, he or she is not up to standards. They make me feel terrible about who I am sometimes! And sometimes, they are just the sweetest people! I just need them to back off, cause I can be a big pushover. But I need to know how, they won't listen when I say it kindly, but they get aggressive when I raise my voice. Granted, they are really nice deep down inside, it's just lately they have been all over me about something! I just need a way to tell them to lay off. When i try to tell them, they blame it on teenage rebellion. They reply back,"You're the son, I'm the parent until you're 18". And that may be true and all, but that doesn't mean you have to pester me constantly about something, right? Or am I being immature? I am pretty sure every teen feels this way at some point. right?Thank you, dgvella :)
How do I tell my family to back off in a nice way?
Janet Murgu?“?a, President and CEO of the National Council of La Raza Lou Dobbs's resignation from CNN yesterday is an important step forward in restoring greater fairness, accuracy, and balance on CNN and cable news. It is our hope that his resignation begins to undo the climate of intolerance fostered on his show, restore journalistic integrity to the CNN brand, and bring civility and truth back to the immigration debate. Yesterday's resignation came after thousands of people and organizations pressured CNN to stop Dobbs's biased coverage of our community and the immigration debate. For years, NCLR has raised concerns with CNN about the gross distortions, misrepresentations, and falsehoods that Dobbs's program has perpetuated in describing the impact of immigrants on American society. We have documented a litany of issues, including: * His regular use of guests representing hate groups, vigilantes, and nativists as "experts" on immigration * His relentless repetition of stories on immigrants and crime that project an impression far from reality * His association of immigrants as carriers of disease that has been both inaccurate and pejorative Just since July of this year, our colleagues at Media Matters have posted 299 items highlighting and correcting erroneous information from Lou Dobbs's show. I appeared on his show to ask Dobbs to curtail his bias and distance himself from the vigilantes and nativists he has featured. I have also partnered with CNN to address the levels of diversity before and behind the camera, in hopes that this would help. However, in the wake of Dobbs's participation at an anti-immigrant rally sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)--an organization designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)--we joined the Drop Dobbs campaign and began to educate advertisers about the impact his rhetoric has on the Latino community. As someone who has gone head to head with Dobbs, I must say that this has never been personal. This is an important substantive matter to the entire Latino community. We welcome Dobbs's departure, and we wish him well. There are others giving voice to extreme and polarizing rhetoric on cable network news and talk radio, so our campaign to take hate out of the immigration debate will continue. We look forward to working in partnership with you--with your passion, your vision and support. Thank you for everything that you did to make sure that the Drop Dobbs campaign was a success.
Do you think Janet Murgu?“?a should run for President of 2012?
I mean i'm gay and i've heard about how some people that are for gay rights (as i obviously am) have criticized her lyrics and stuff because she often refers to homosexuality in a way that could be perceived negatively. I however take a completely different view. I think she's incredibly talented and has a great voice. Most of all though i have to commend her tremendous courage. She was raised by christian pastor parents only listening to gospel music. For her to bring out 2 songs about homosexuality that aren't negative ( in my opinion) despite her parents strict religion is a positive and only positive thing for homosexuality. I'm just wondering what your view is? I'm mainly appealing to lesbian/gay/bi but of course straight peoples comments would be valued immensely. Thank you :) Oh and please just mention whether you are straight/gay ect.
How do you view some of Katy Perry's songs?
Hi you all, I know this all will sound really sad etc but I need help.. I myself know the answer but I just can't get over it the more you people tell me the better it is so here it goes.... I have known this one particular guy for a while now but I know him through a very close friend. We both (the guy) and I never actually hung out together much, would randomly text each other etc but then I moved cities and the coincidence was that he even was moved by his work to the city I moved to. We started hanging out, talking a lot more, kinda a flirting as well ... and one thing leading to another we started partying as well. Last friday while partying things got a little messier and we ended up sleeping together. All night he kept telling me how he has dreams about me etc etc ... and in the morning he got up and just left .. when i asked him why he was leaving like that he kinda got angry and raised his voice saying do you want a relationship ? and on this i got scared and i said no ... and he said take it as a one night stand then and just left .... i know what you all must be thinking am a bit cuckoo in the head ... but on sunday i just msged him asking how he was etc etc and he said lets meet this week for drinks etc ... and then nothing ... I know i should forget about him and let it be ... but its easier said then done I kinda do like the guy and the reason i msged him first was because he is the introvert sort anyway what should i do now ... what if he never calls or msgs me again and what if he does .... why is everything so difficult and i see ppl around me having a wonderful time and i am always falling for the wrong guys .... Please help me out ... thanks in advance would really appreciate it
