Sounds like John Denver... maybe Gordon Lightfoot?
I know I have asked this question before, but I want more opinions. In Vancouver, British Columbia we have a couple good stations. All Time Favorites CISL 650 (my personal favorite) At this station they have almost Triple the amount of songs to play while other stations have a relative small amount of songs to work with. Also, they always take your request, everything from the Ink spots to Elvis, and from Gordon Lightfoot, to the Guess Who. http://www.am650radio.com/ Fun FM / CKCL 104.9 I personally don't really care to much for this one, I find some of the hosts pretty annoying, however I do listen if CISL has a talk program or something http://www.1049greatesthits.com/ KIXI Am880 This is a seattle station (the signal isn't usually very good, however they play some good swing from the good ole 50's) they also play to many commercials, but I dont mind to much. http://www.kixi.com/ What about your areas stations

Recommend me some Gordon Lightfoot tunes?
I always wake up with a song in my head. It could be Bach, Journey, John Lennon, Gordon Lightfoot. I will hum it to myself when I shower and get dressed. Then It disappears. I was checking my Mom's outdoor spigots and "Band of Gold" by Freda Payne was so vivid in my mind. Where did that come from?

Who has tunes in their head most of the time?
Hey everyone! I was reading this poem and I wanted to know what you think it is about: Sit Down Young Stranger- Gordon Lightfoot I'm standing at the doorway, my head bowed in my hands, Not knowing where to sit, not knowing where to stand, My father looms above me for him there is no rest, My mother's arms enfold me and hold me to her breast, "They say you been out wandering, they say you travelled far, Sit down young stranger and tell us who you are." The room has all gone misty, my thoughts are all in spin, "Sit down young stranger and tell us where you been," "Well I've been up to the mountain, I've walked down by the sea, I never questioned no one and no one questioned me, My love was given freely and oftimes was returned, I never came to borrow, I only came to learn. Sometimes it would get lonely but it taught me how to cry, And laughter came too easy for life to pass me by, I never had a dollar that I didn't earn with pride, 'Cause I had a million daydreams to keep me satisfied." "And will you gather daydreams or will you gather wealth?" "How can you find your fortune when you cannot find yourself?" My mother's eyes grow misty, there's a trembling in her hand, "Sit down young stranger, I do not understand, And will you try and tell us, you been too long at school, That knowledge is not needed, that power does not rule, That war is not the answer, that young men should not die, Sit down young stranger, I wait for your reply." "The answer is not easy for souls are not reborn, To wear the crown of peace, you must wear the crown of thorns If Jesus had a reason, I'm sure he would not tell, They treated him so badly, how could he wish us well?" The parlor now is empty, there's nothing left to say, My father has departed, my mother's gone to pray. There's rockets in the meadows and ships out on the sea, The answer's in the forest, carved upon a tree. John loves Mary, does anyone love me? 10 points for the best answer, and thank you in advance!

    What is this poem about???????????
I ask this because Elvis is in the Country Hall of Fame. What act who is not traditionally considered country (see my example) could you give a good argument for their induction? My choice: GORDON LIGHTFOOT. Country singers have recorded a lot of Gordon's songs ("Ribbon of Darkness," "Did She Mention My Name," "Steel Rail Blues"). I could see Gordon making the Hall of Fame based on his songwriting skills.

What "Non-Country" Act Would You Like to See in the Country Hall of Fame?
My favourite would have to be black day in july, whats yours?

What is your favourite song by Gordon Lightfoot?
This is driving me -insane- I can remember only a little bit of this song, my favorite part, but it's not actually words. I think it's at or very near the end. It's a guy singing and his voice goes really high pitch on the last word, I think it's 'free' (of course, it's a 60's song right?) and then he drops his voice to normal and goes waaaaaah wah wah wah wah for quite a while and says another line at the end. I have always loved this song, and I can't remember any other words for my life. He might say 'living like a song' or something like that at the end. It's really upbeat and happy sounding, the singer goes high pitch a -lot-. It's -not- Wah-wah by George Harrison or Make Way for the Lady by Gordon Lightfoot (the two I could find trying to look up the lyrics) Any and all serious help appreciated, this is just driving me crazy!
